Mongkhon

มงคล · mong-kon

Traditionally the mongkhon was blessed by a monk or made from cloth with personal significance to the teacher. Today many camps use a standard braided cord, but the etiquette is the same: the trainer places it on the fighter's head before the ritual and takes it off, with a short blessing, before the bell. Fighters do not usually touch or wear it outside that moment.
